Re-appropriation of Berlin’s urban heritage – in images
Project / OFFSIDE was started in 2017 to explore Berlin’s architectural heritage (past and contemporary) and how it is being (re-) appropriated by people everyday.
Urban spaces are greatly enriched stages for actors to play upon their own premisses of ‘belonging’ – interacting with unique (living) objects, histories and dreams.
These pictures attempt to re-enact Berlin’s urban theater as it is deployed before my senses.
The work started with the photographing Berlin but extends in 2019 to more places or territories: urban centres (build environment) and everyday life (theater).
I am investigating ways to express the surrender or oblivion of the photographical frame – that includes the literary (words) and the physical (photography).
Some images refer to cultural heritage while others will start to exist or construct an image from their own architectural nature.
