Resident’s protests against a right-wing extremist rally
UPDATE 5 +++ New counter rally registered in Kreuzberg +++ Thursday, October 3, 2019, from 13:00, Berlin-Mitte – The resident’s initiative Anwohnerinneninitiative für Zivilcourage – Gegen Rechts will be hosting, for the fifth time, protest events against a rally organized by “Wir für Deutschland” (WfD) through their neighborhood. Once again, the initiative has put together an extensive program at Friedrichstraße / Johannisstraße including, amongst others, Rainald Grebe. The alliance Berliner Bündnis gegen Rechts and an initiative of the club scene calls to join their protest event as well. The route of the right-wing extremist rally has been announced.
On October 3, 2019, the right-wing extremist organization “Wir für Deutschland” (WfD) plans, after eleven months, to hold a further rally through Berlin. Following broad protests and little participation for their latest march on November 9, 2018, WfD announced to not organize any further rallies in the future, bringing to a halt their series of rallies since 2016.
